Chinese Painting ~ Abstract Art

Who says that Chinese Painting must be paintings of mountains, bamboos, flowers ... ? We can also paint Abstract Art using Chinese brush, ink and paper !  A total  NEW experience for me and it is very inspiring :)

Medicine 药

Interpretation of the chinese word MEDICINE 药

Look carefully and you can spot a man weeping in tears in this chinese word MEDICINE. Can you see the two eyes at the very top, with 2 streams of tears at the side? At the centre are the nose and the mouth, and the bottom are the body, hands and legs. I find the structure of chinese words very amazing ... and this interpretation is just purely my own observation and imagination ! >____<

Self portrait

In today's lesson, my Caricature teacher Mr. Kamal Dollah passed us each one mirror and asked us to stare into the mirror and chant "Mirror Mirror On the Wall ... who's the fairest of them all ..." (Just joking, Kamal did not say that =.=''')

So we stared hard into the mirror and started to dig our nose ... (hahaha, joking again)

For 1 hour, we sketched our self portrait in pencil sketching, taking great care in drawing out our PIG NOSE, BIG MOUTH, and any CROW FEET if we have! Hahaha, it was really fun!
